Community Innovation Lab
Community Innovation Lab is a collaborative action-learning space that examines, incubates, and catalyzes innovative solutions to complex social problems.
Based on our expansive experience in community development, social innovation, peer-to-peer mentoring and funding over 200 projects across Pakistan from 2015 onward we have developed an adaptive, flexible and iterative methodology that helps us to provide resources, mentorship, and an enabling environment to local actors to foster change as they see it.
Breaking away from doctor-patient style social development – we believe in putting communities in-charge, embracing uncertainties, emergent social change, emancipatory decision-making, participatory mobilization, and mutual learning.

What We Do
Curated spaces for mutual learning and reflection
Funding to innovative community actors
Adaptive capacity support structure
Flexible process management support
Safe to fail project spirit
Tools to design, implement and examine change

The projects funded by the Community Innovation Lab reflect a diverse range of initiatives addressing unique problems that are often overlooked. These include liaising between government mechanisms and marginalized groups, providing safe spaces for women and youth, impacting peace through health and hygiene initiatives, and exploring the intersectionality of different identities and needs with peacebuilding. Each project places communities at the center stage, from ideation to implementation and sustainability, ensuring that meaningful change is created by addressing specific community needs and fostering a more inclusive and peaceful society.
