Pitch Guidelines

Duration: Max 2 minutes

Language: Preferably Urdu or English, but regional/first languages are welcome!

Your pitch should include:

Introduction (10 seconds): Your name, background, and any relevant experiences or expertise that relate to the idea you are presenting. Please keep it short and crisp.

Problem (40 seconds): Clearly explain the issues or challenges that you see in your community. Describe why it is important and how it impacts the community or individuals involved.

Solution: How do you propose to address those issues, innovatively?
Brief overview of what the solution is? (do not mention activities) – 20 seconds
How is this solution sustainable and innovative? – 50 secs

In case, you have important points to make and 2 minutes are not enough. Send in a text (not exceeding 150 words) with the pitch.

Tips for a good pitch:

  1. In case of video, use a well-lit and quiet environment for recording your pitch to ensure that you are clearly visible and audible.
  2. Consider using a tripod or stable surface to keep the camera steady and avoid shaky footage.
  3. In case of audio, record in a quiet environment to minimize background noise or distractions.
  4. Use a good-quality microphone to capture clear audio.
  5. Test the audio levels before recording to ensure that your voice is clear and audible. Avoid speaking too softly or too loudly.
  6. Review before submission to ensure clear video and/or sound.

FAQs

Q: How do I submit my idea to the Community Innovation Lab?
A: Submit a 2-minute video pitch explaining your background, the problem you want to solve, and your proposed solution. Pitches longer than 2 minutes will not be accepted.

Sustainability – 40 marks
Innovation & Problem Identification – 30 marks
Experience/Expertise – 30 marks

A: No forms required. Just send your video pitch via WhatsApp along with the following details as text:

A: Not at all! We prioritize content over quality. A smartphone-recorded video is absolutely fine.
A: Funding ranges from PKR 300,000 to PKR 2 million, depending on the strength of your idea and proposal.
A: Shortlisted applicants will undergo a hybrid learning and mentoring process (online + in-person) to develop their projects and budgets.
A: All pitches must be submitted by 20th July 2025.
A: The theme is Sustainable Peace. Any community issue affecting peace, safety, or cohesion can be addressed through your idea.
A: Individuals, as well as registered or unregistered CBOs/CSOs, are welcome to apply.
